About the Intensity Scale

You can change the brightness and contrast of selected data in a wavelength by changing the wavelength's intensity scale.

softWoRx uses shades of the color that is selected for a wavelength to automatically create an intensity scale. The lightest shade is mapped to the lowest (dimmest) intensity value in the wavelength and the darkest shade is mapped to the highest (brightest) intensity value. The remaining shades are mapped to values between the lowest and highest values.

Color shades can be mapped to create linear or nonlinear intensity scales. In linear scales, the color shades are mapped to values that are distributed evenly throughout the range of intensity data. In nonlinear scales, the shades are mapped to values that are distributed unevenly throughout the range.

Note Changing intensity scaling values does not alter image data, only the display.
