The Calculate OTF Tool

Use the Calculate OTF dialog box to calculate an optical transfer function (OTF) when a measured OTF is unavailable. Measured OTFs usually work better than calculated ones. Calculated OTFs are most successful for low power, air lenses.

Open Calculate OTF by choosing Conversions | Calculate OTF from the main softWoRx menu.

To...

OTF File

Enter the name of the new OTF after changing the numerical aperture, index of refraction, and emission wavelength. (The OTF file name is automatically generated from these values).

Numerical Aperture

Specify the default numerical aperture (the default is 1.40).

Index of Refraction

Specify the index of refraction (the default  is 1.515).

Emission Wavelength

Specify the wavelength (the default is 528 nanometers).
