Use the Panels tab fields to create macros that scan a large area with a relatively high magnification lens. (The Panels tab is under the Design tab in the Design/Run Experiment window.) You can use panels as a means of reviewing a large area of a slide, or as data that you want to stitch together to form a single, large image.
Image files that are collected with the Collect Panels check box activated have a .pnl extension. These images must be stitched to create DeltaVision image files.
Like other macros, Panel Collection experiments should be designed after you have manually acquired images of your specimen and adjusted exposure and other parameters until you are satisfied with the images.
CAUTION: Do not try to reuse panel collection macros. These macros are sensitive to microscope settings such as image size and magnification because the number of panels required depends upon many factors. |
Use |
To... |
Collect Panels |
Enable panel collection. |
Overlap (pixels) |
Specify the amount of overlap, in pixels, between adjacent panels. |
Separation (um) |
Specify the amount of overlap, in microns, between adjacent panels. The Overlap field value is updated when you change the Separation field value. |
Start Coordinates |
Enter the XYZ coordinates at which to start collecting panels. Use the GET START button to obtain the current XYZ stage coordinates. |
End Coordinates
|
Enter the XYZ coordinates at which to finish collecting panels. Use the GET END button to obtain the current XYZ stage coordinates. |
