Using Focus Assist

Use the Focus button on the Resolve3D main menu to assist in finding the bottom of your sample.

To find the bottom of your sample:

1. Click the Focus button on the Resolve3D main menu. The Focus Assist window is displayed.

2. Manually lower the objective to a safe distance below the sample.

3. Click the Home Stage Z button the "zero" the stage Z coordinate.

4. Click the Start Focus Assist button.

5. Using only the coarse and fine focus knobs, carefully raise the objective to maximize the length of the bar displayed on the Focus Assist window.
