The Image window is a set of tools that allow you to look at data stored in an image file. You can look at a the image, a table of intensity values, a three-dimensional plot of intensity values, and a histogram of intensity values. You can display the information in these four formats simultaneously and easily move from one to the other to examine the data in the image file.
Open the Image window by choosing File | View on the softWoRx main menu and selecting an image in the View Image window.

Menu Bar |
Choose menu commands to save files, select view and display options, and open Image window tools. You can execute some menu commands using the shortcut key that appears next to the command on the menu. For example, to save a file, you can either choose File | Save on the menu or press CTRL+S. |

Tool Bar |
Use buttons as alternatives to the menu bar above. The five buttons on the Tool Bar are Open Image File (to display the Open Image File window), Save File As... (to display the Save File menu), View Movie (to open the Movie window), Arbitrary Line Profile (to open the Arbitrary Line Profile window), and Data Inspector (to open the Inspector window). |

Window Number |
Refer to a window by its window number (if you have more than one Image window open). A number is assigned to each open Image window. |

Tool Buttons |
Navigate the Image window and adjust the intensity of the display. |

(Channel Selectors) |
Show or hide the wavelengths (channels) in the Image window. When the Image is displayed in color, each button has the same color as the wavelength that it controls. The number on each control button indicates its wavelength. When the data is displayed as grayscale, use these controls to choose which wavelength is displayed. The buttons are white with black numbers when on and black with white numbers when off. Note: For some applications, a current wavelength (indicated by a yellow box) is useful. You can change the current wavelength with the mouse by clicking it on and off again. |

Z Section Slider |
Scroll through the Z sections displayed in the Image window. You can click a scroll bar arrow to move the image incrementally one section at a time, click immediately above or below the arrow to move in increments of ten Z sections, or click anywhere in the scroll bar with the middle mouse button to move to a Z section. |

Zoom Wheel |
Make the image smaller or larger. Drag the Zoom wheel up to zoom out (make the image smaller) or down to zoom in (make the image larger). |

Zoom to One |
Return the zoom level to 1.0. |

Zoom to Fit |
Zoom image to fit the Image Window. |

Status Bar |
View the Z section that is displayed and whether the image is larger or smaller than its original size. An image displayed at its original size has a zoom level of one. The status bar also displays the intensity of the pixel currently under the mouse pointer. |

Section Label |
View the currently displayed Z section. |

Scale Bar |
The image scale bar is displayed by default. To hide or change the image scale bar, select Options | Display from the Image window. The Display Attributes window allows you to change the scale bar attributes, including its value, length, position, color, and orientation. |

Scroll Bars |
Move the image horizontally or vertically in the Image window. |
|
Time Slider |
Scroll through time points. (This is displayed only when the image has time data.) |

Quick Scale Tools |
Adjust the intensity scale for each wavelength in the image. Changing intensity scale values only adjusts the displayed image. It does not alter the image data. Note: Right mouse button on Quick Scale Tools will reset the tools to the default scale. |
