You can use the DeltaVision microscope system to acquire image data sets that contain multiple Z sections (focal planes), up to five wavelengths, and multiple time points. All the images for a multi-dimensional data set are contained in a single DeltaVision file.
A DeltaVision image file has three parts:
The header: This is a fixed size and contains information about the content and organization of the data in the extended header.
The extended header: This varies in length and contains information related to each section in the image file.
The image data: Data collected by DeltaVision are saved as 16-bit integers. Data collected by other systems may be stored as 8-bit integer, 16-bit integer, floating point, or complex types. (The data type determines the dynamic range of the data.)
