To view cross sections:

  1. On the Image window menu, choose Tools | Orthogonal Viewer.

  2. The Orthogonal Viewer shows the original image on the XY plane. It also displays an XZ  cross section (at the bottom of the window) and a YZ cross section (on the right side of the window).

  3. To orient the image in "real world" coordinates, choose Options | Cover Slip at Bottom/ Right. This orients the image so that the display in the window represents the orientation of the sample when the data was collected (e.g., on the XZ projection, the cover slip is down).

  4. Drag the yellow lines on the XY view of the image up or down to change the XZ cross section and left or right to change the YZ cross section.
