Pick Points Tool Options

Use the Pick Points tool to search for minimum or maximum densities in a specified XYZ range of data. This tool can be used with the Point Values and Line Profile tools.

Open Pick Points by choosing Measure | Pick Points from the main softWoRx menu.

Use

To...

Window

Specify the number of the window that you will be picking points in.

Picking Mode

Set the command that is associated with clicking the mouse in the window. Options are Add Points, Add 2D Points, Delete Points, or Off. When deleting points, the wave and time must be set to the list that you are working on.

Wave

Set the wavelength that the points list refers to.

  • If the window is set to grayscale, the Wave field is automatically set to the current wave in the Data Collection window. When you change the value of the Wave field, the new wave is displayed in the window.

  • If the Data Collection window is displayed in color, the Wave field is not updated when colors in the window are toggled on and off. Instead, this field retains its value until you enter another value.

Time

Time is automatically updated to the current time point that is shown in the window. Changing the value of the Time field updates the window to that time.

List

Start a new list in the same wave/time group by entering a new number. (Each wave and time can have any number of lists. Every wave and time group's first list is numbered one.)

Size

View the current size of the current list.

Coordinates

View the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the last point picked.

Show All Waves

Show the points for all (not just the active) wavelengths.

Show 3D Points All Sections

Choose to see the 3D coordinates of points on all sections.

Search Method

Search the Max Density or Min Density when picking a point. This search is performed only if Box is greater than one or Range is greater than zero.

Box

Specify the box size that is used to determine local average of intensity.

X/Y/Z Range

Determine how far out from the picked point to search for the Min or Max density.

Load

Load a file that contains a point list into the window.

Save

Save the points that are currently in the window to a file.

Keyboard shortcuts

Change parameters in the specified Image window. The following keys can be used:

F1 - toggles on and off graphics for wave 1

F2 - toggles on and off graphics for wave 2

F3 - toggles on and off graphics for wave 3

F4 - toggles on and off graphics for wave4

F5 - toggles on and off graphics for wave5

F6 - resets all waves graphics to on

F7 - decrements the current wave

F8 - increments the current wave

* keys are only in effect if the corresponding wave exists in the window.
