Examining Point Values Data

Use Point Values to display information about pixels (e.g., intensity values and coordinates) as you move the mouse in the Image window.

Tip You can simultaneously view information about each wavelength in the image by opening a separate Point Values dialog box for each wavelength.

Open Point Values by choosing Tools | Point Values from the Image window menu.

Field

Description

Window

The window number of the Image window for which information is being displayed in Point Values. If you are working with multiple Image windows and want to change the window number, you can type the new window number into the Window field or right-click the window number in the Image window and drag it to the Window field.

Wave

Allows you to choose the wavelength for which you want to view information.

Note If the Image window is in Grayscale mode, Point Values displays information for the single wavelength that is displayed in the Image window.

Sub-pixel coordinates

When this check box is inactive, point coordinates are displayed at the pixel level only (always from the lower-left corner of the pixel). When the Sub-pixel coordinates check box is activated, point coordinates can be displayed at the sub-pixel level.

Image Coords (pix)

The position of the cursor in the Image window in pixels. The bottom left corner of the image is 0,0.

Image Coords (um)

The position of the cursor in the Image window in micrometers. The bottom left corner of the image is 0,0.

Slide Coords

The position of the cursor in the Image window relative to the bottom left corner of the slide.

Stage Coords

The position of the cursor in the Image window relative to the origin of the stage.

Image Intensity
