Use the Cell Tracking Options window to set the parameters for cell tracking. When the Enable Cell Tracking check box is activated, DeltaVision uses image recognition software to track cell movement. After it acquires the first image, it stores the image of a single channel in the region of interest (ROI) around the cell that you define. Then, it calculates the center of the cell. In subsequent images, the pattern of the ROI is recognized and the center of the cell is recalculated. The position of the new center is compared with the position of the original center. If the center of the cell moves beyond the distance that you specify as the Move Threshold, the stage is moved and the process starts over.
To open the Cell Tracking Options window, activate the Enable Cell Tracking check box and click the Cell Tracking Options button on the Time-lapse tab of the Design\Run Experiment window.
Note: Cell Tracking is available only for DeltaVision systems. |
Use |
To... |
Tracking Method |
Specify the method that DeltaVision uses to determine the center of the feature. This center is recalculated after each image is acquired.
|
Reference Channel |
Select which channel to use for pattern recognition. If you are acquiring more than one channel, choose the channel that has the most distinctive features. Channels are numbered as they appear in the Experiment Designer window |
Move Threshold |
Specify the distance that the center of the cell must move before DeltaVision resets the stage. If the cell moves beyond the threshold, the stage is moved so that the center is at its original position with respect the center of the field of view. Choose a threshold that is small enough to keep the cell in the field of view and yet large enough to prevent needless stage movement that could result from small cell movements. |
Region Of Interest (ROI) percent |
Specify how much of the field of view to use for pattern recognition. This percentage is actually the percentage of the diameter of the field of view. Specify an ROI that covers the object of interest and not much more. The ROI should be large enough for DeltaVision to recognize the object but small enough so that other objects are not part of the area used for image recognition. |
