Resolve3D Menus

Use the Resolve3D menus to perform most of the Resolve3D functions.

Tip:  Clicking the right mouse button with the mouse pointer on the Resolve3D window opens a pop-up menu with several useful commands.

File Menu

Use

To...

Acquire Image

Collect and display an image from the microscope with the current settings. This image is only displayed in the Data Collection window. It is not saved in a disk file for later use.

Continuous Acquire

Open the Continuos Acquire window to collect and display images continuously. These images are displayed only; they are not saved in a disk file.

Snapshot

Launch a tool that allows you collect a single 2-D, multi-wavelength "Snapshot" image using the current settings. If you need to collect a Z series, time-lapse image, or other complex scheme, you will need to design an experiment with the Resolve3D Experiment Designer.

Scratch File

Create a "Scratch File" to which you can save individual image frames for later use. Once a file is opened, clicking Save Current Image saves the most recently collected image frame. Click Close Scratch File or Done to close the file.

NoteThe image size cannot be changed while a Scratch File is open.

Experiment

Present the Design/Run Experiment window to select a previously-created experiment, design a new experiment with the Experiment Designer, or Create or Edit an experiment macro using the Experiment Macro Editor.

Quit

Quit Resolve3D.

View Menu

Use

To...

Point List

Present a window that allows you to manage a list of X,Y,Z points that you want the system to remember. These points can be interactively "visited" at any time and they can be used in experiments. See Point List.

Clear Stage Trails

Clear the stage trails in the Stage View. (Stage-trails record the paths of motion that were taken while exploring the sample.)

Clear Stage Thumbnails

Clear thumbnail images in the Stage View. (Stage thumbnails are images displayed in the Stage View when an image is acquired.)

Blank Screen

Turn the computer screen to black when imaging under very light-sensitive conditions. (Clicking anywhere on the screen restores the display.)

Command Line Interface

Open a command-line window to issue individual Resolve3D commands to the system. This option should be used carefully because it can put the system in an inconsistent state. See Command Line for details.

To...

Zero the Stage Z

Move the stage's Z to the "0" coordinate (the middle of it's range).

Center the Stage XY

Move the stage to the middle of its working range in X and Y.

Calibration Menu

Use

To...

Make

Open the Calibration tool that is used to create flat-field calibration images and optional tables of "bad" pixels.

Note You can use this tool to apply these tables to images when they are acquired. If you need to calibrate images after they are acquired, choose Process | Calibrate on the main softWoRx menu.

Read

Read previously-saved calibration tables from the disk. Once they are loaded into the system, you can use the Manage tool to designate which tables are active.

Manage

Designate which calibration tables are active and remove them from the system's session memory.
