To acquire images with an experiment macro:

Use experiment macros to automate data acquisition.

  1. Manually acquire an image of your specimen and adjust the exposure time, specimen thickness, and other parameters until you are satisfied with the image.

  2. At the top of the Resolve3D window, click the Experiment icon to open the Design/Run Experiment window.

  3. Click the Design tab to display the options for designing an experiment.

  4. Select the tabs for the data acquisition options (e.g., Sectioning, Channels, Time-lapse) that you want to use and specify the parameters for each option.

  5. Click the Run tab.

Your macro name will appear in the Design/Run Experiment window.

  6. In the Image file name field, enter the file name.

  7. Press the Green Arrow button at the top of the window to start the scan.

The macro collects the image and saves it in the output folder that you specified.

    Notes:

    • Do not use file names that include spaces or special characters (e.g., %, /, \, “, !, $, #, ~, *, &, @, ’, +, = ).

    • The image file name has an _R3D.dv extension. This is the unprocessed (i.e., raw) Resolve3D image. A file with a .log extension will also be created. The .log file is a text file containing information about the image file, including the macro and objective that were used to collect the image.
